Oxford edges refer to the type of edge finishing on a bedding product. Traditionally an oxford edge is finished at 6cm in width, however in some cases can be as minimal as 1cm.
An oxford edge is mainly used on pillowcases and quilt covers, but can also be used on cushions and other smaller products. The oxford edge is the section of fabric that is sewn outside the main body of fabric.
Additionally there are a different methods used to construct an oxford edge, either with mitred corners or just a regular stitch, the latter being the more common method. Traditional oxford or tailored edges used mitred corners as a way to show of craftsmanship and expertise.
